Foxy Ladies

I'm pretty happy to have found some super people to help me bring together the look for the band rooms, VIP tent and Grand Theatre stage at the Falls Festival in Lorne this year.

It's like opening presents when I collect the work they've designed -
the least I could do was throw a teensy cocktail party to say thanks!

Clare from Victor Fox and Jordie from Lunar.

How do you like this sneak peak of Victor Fox's cushions and banners?!

And more - some spectacular scenery from A Skulk of Foxes!

I'm excited now about bringing it all together!

Eye Candy

I'm not going to check right now but I think it was that champion of handcrafts, William Morris, who is said to have advised that you only keep beautiful and useful items in your house.

Well I think these handmade fishing floats are extraordinary. I'm sorry my photos don't do them justice.  So carefully hand painted. There is even the occasional porcupine quill involved.

Humble, beautiful and if you fish, useful!

Work in Progress

Oh goodness, I've almost forgotten how to do this blogging stuff.
Yes, erm it has been a while hasn't it.
So, a little of what I've been up to below.
Some new necklaces - some of which are off to a new stockist- (exciting!)The Estelle Store in Melbourne. (I hope to have some photos to share with you soon)

Other than BonVoyage work, I'm still building up a look for the band rooms and vip tent at The Falls Festival in Lorne again.
Some bits and pieces I've been putting together below.
Shortly I'll have some more pictures (promise) of some super work that I've commissioned from the talented people from Victor Fox and Skulk of Foxes.  Yes, my foxy ladies (and man..)

Back into it with lots more to show you soon. Really!! xx

Express

Gorgeous, gorgeous lettering from the railways.

Mechanically minded or not, it's full of treasure.

History #1

     York

Pieces of my heart live here.

They're not alone.

Bison and assorted Yorkshire Fauna

Two new spots in York!
Well, new for me.

Belgium beer under the eaves in the House of Trembling Madness...

(Strawberry beer for example. Appropriate and much more lovely than it sounds. Really.)

Many beers, old beams, a view of the minster, taxidermy, .. do you need anything else?

And, would you believe it, fab coffee and super cute company (that would be you, Pirate) at Bison coffee.(and here too.)
Ahh, wish they had been here when I lived around the corner.

 Simon

There is live music on occasion. They even sell some tempting vintage items - but in true English shopkeeping tradition it's not entirely obvious whether or not you're allowed to buy any of it. Subtle, that's what it is.

York is full of wonders and these are but two of them....

Provisions

In Whitby, stocking up on

Pottering in the rain, found all manner of bits and bobs. Favoured ephemera.
Bit of work to do now.

Transport tokens and Butlins badges are all very well but it's
these Whitby traders are who I will remember when working their pieces into the next round of jewellery.

Graham. His stall is in Lord Cholmley's pavilion.  He once was a merchant sailor and even ventured to Australia.

Carole. A little shop full of treats just across the cobblestones from Captn. Cooks old digs.  She has a lovely smile and rescues cats on the Moors.

Allan.  Tin trains and cars to the rafters in a little collectors treasure trove tucked into a corner of the market square.
Like me, hates a chat! heheh.

Merci et bonnes aventures mes amis!

Hercule and Co.

Comforting, tea and biscuits reading for when I feel my mind is racing.  Ok, so they involve the odd murder.. or two or three.  But I find it ever so relaxing. Some people are horrified.
Meh.
Of course it also helps that I find the cover artwork somewhat beautiful and soothing too.

Magnetic.....

Ok, there's a lot that can be said for the charms of Winter...

But I do so wish I was sending you a postcard from the tropics!

Just saying you know...

Sea of Tranquility

I've been looking forward to doing a little post about Lunar.

A little jewel box of a shop.

I love a place where there is something to delight your eye in every corner.

Jordie and her Mum Ann-Maree  have personally sourced, and in some cases designed the accessories and tempting things that fill Lunar.  I think their bravery in opening their little independent treasure trove is fabulous!

You can find out more about them here. Or treat yourself with a visit in person of course.

I really love all the colour in these pics - the marvellous photos are thanks to Christine from Morrissy Photos.
